InMotion Hosting Review 2024

InMotion Hosting's packages are generous. Most of their features are standard, but the hosting packages offered are arguably quite excellent. While many hosting services reserve the best features for higher-priced plans, InMotion Hosting offers a wide range of features even in its most basic plans.

All InMotion Hosting hosting packages come with a cPanel control panel, unlimited bandwidth, 24/7 technical support, and free ad credits. Although InMotion doesn't directly support Arabic, you can take advantage of cPanel's built-in translation tool. You can also choose to pre-install software like WordPress, PrestaShop, or Joomla. Each package includes a free site transfer and a free domain name for a year.

Another important aspect is that all packages include free SSL certificates via LetsEncrypt, which means that all your site data is protected by encryption, providing an extra layer of security against hacks and data leaks. In addition, installing SSL boosts your site's ranking in search engine results.

The main difference between the plans is the storage capacity, number of databases, additional domains, and available email accounts. The more you pay, the more features you get. However, email accounts are limited, with the basic plan offering 10 email addresses, while the two higher plans offer 50 and 100 accounts respectively, while some other hosting services offer unlimited email accounts.

In addition to shared hosting, InMotion Hosting also offers dedicated WordPress hosting plans, which seem more suitable for WordPress sites. However, InMotion Hosting doesn't elaborate on the details of the custom server configuration.

I chose the Launch (basic) shared hosting plan, which runs on Apache servers. Although this technology is old, it works well, but it's not as fast as modern LiteSpeed servers.

The Launch plan offers 50GB of SSD storage, unlimited bandwidth, and support for two websites. The top two plans, Power and Pro, offer 100 and 200GB of storage and support 50 and 100 websites, respectively.

Interestingly, InMotion claims that the Basic plan offers "3x performance and speed," 4x, and 6x, but InMotion doesn't explain exactly what they mean by 3x! Maybe we'll never know, because the company doesn't make it clear.

BoldGrid Site Builder

InMotion Hosting has previously developed a drag-and-drop WordPress website builder, making it easy for users to design their sites professionally without the need for coding knowledge. The tool is effective and makes it possible to create a professional-looking site in a very short time.

While it's still available and has good features, there are better alternatives, such as the Elementor plugin, which offers more features in its free version and is easier to customize. The paid version offers much more options and features.

BoldGrid Web Editor

In BoldGrid, you can easily drag and drop ready-made templates from left to right. Daily backup is available, but it comes at an additional cost. Daily backup is a paid feature offered by services like Kinsta, Liquid Web, and SiteGround, which is rarely available in basic shared packages.

It's good that InMotion offers this feature even if it comes at an additional cost.

Web Design Service

InMotion Hosting is one of the few services that offers a full web design option. If you'd rather not design your site yourself, you can take advantage of this service at an additional cost, which is much cheaper than hiring a freelance web developer or design agency.

Ease of use (4.7)

InMotion Hosting's AMP dashboard looks simple and clear, but there are a few things that can be confusing.

The first drawback: Choosing the right bouquet can be confusing

When trying to choose a hosting plan, I was confused between traditional web hosting and WordPress hosting. When I inquired with technical support, the representative told me that the difference is not that big, which surprised me because the marketing makes it clear that there are differences between the plans.

Disadvantage 2: The management interface is sometimes confusing

InMotion offers an option to design the AMP interface in a similar way to cPanel, which sometimes makes it difficult to distinguish between the two. Users may waste time navigating between different pages because of this similarity.

Positive point: Getting started is easy

Signing up for InMotion is easy, as several instructions and emails are sent upon registration, WordPress was installed automatically, and connecting to the domain was seamless thanks to the information sent.

Performance (4.6)

InMotion's performance was unstable, which could be an issue. While running performance tests on a test site using WordPress, I noticed that the average page load time was 1.97 seconds, while the server uptime was 99.64%. The results would have looked good if the load times were consistent, but they weren't.
